Through Life Support Services
Warships are recognised as major assets and, consequently, the application of asset management tools and techniques are becoming more widely adopted in order to maintain and sustain capability. Effective management of an asset – be it a component, an item of equipment, a system or the whole platform – helps to reduce through-life cost, ensure regulatory compliance, improve operating performance and availability, and minimise risk to the asset, its operators, and the environment. At BMT, we combine our engineering expertise, Integrated Project Team experience, and broad understanding of maritime capabilities to determine the best blend of asset management activities to achieve desired objectives when trading off time, performance and Whole-Life Costs. We work with the UK and international Defence Industry on a range of equipments, systems, platforms and programmes to ensure the safe and optimised performance of a nation’s maritime capability. We have helped to develop some of the most important defining Safety, Environmental and Supportability standards, along with supporting documentation, in today’s UK military maritime environment. Capability Management Services The combined efforts of the BMT and AEUK Safety Engineering Teams have been instrumental in identifying and diligently recording hazards and the residual risks, as well as articulating the Safety and Environmental Case Reports. These reports have been successfully accepted and endorsed by the MOD and are testament to BMT’s professional expertise in Safety Engineering Support. - From Atlas Elektronik UK following BMT’s support to the Vahana replacement workboats programme.
