BMT Annual review 2024

The Seafarers’ Charity Over the last year employees from across the organisation have collectively raised over £10,000 to support The Seafarers’ Charity. Whether conquering the London Marathon or completing the mighty 24 Peak Challenge in the Lake District, their fundraising efforts will transform the lives of seafarers in need at home and abroad. We are committed to ensuring that employees’ fundraising efforts are supported through volunteer days and matched funding. This results in better outcomes for our employees and charity partners. BMT cleans 80 employees across the UK and Europe are dedicating their volunteering day to improving their local environments, including fundraising in support of the Marine Conservation Society. Teams from our Aberdeen, Plymouth, Weymouth, and Glasgow offices participated in beach cleanups, while employees in Bath, Bristol, and Teddington focused on cleaning rivers. We anticipate an even larger and more impactful event next year. We proudly participated in this vibrant community event, which contributes to tourism, economic growth, and charitable causes in Ottawa. We were thrilled to support the festival’s mission, recognising its meaningful impact on the community. Our Canadian team at the Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival. (above right) Advancing reconciliation: our Reflect RAP Respect is a core value that underpins everything we do. As we work towards a more inclusive and equitable world, we recognise our role in fostering meaningful relationships, promoting cultural understanding, and supporting reconciliation with First Nations peoples. Our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) marks the beginning of our formal reconciliation journey in Australia. It represents our commitment to listening, learning, and building respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. More than a symbolic gesture, our RAP is a tangible step toward driving meaningful change - ensuring that First Nations voices are heard, cultural heritage is valued, and opportunities for engagement and collaboration are strengthened. With a global reach spanning governments and industries, we are well-positioned to advocate for reconciliation and support policies that bridge divides and uplift First Nations communities. We understand that reconciliation is an ongoing journey, and we are committed to playing an active role in the process of healing, understanding, and positive change - both within Australia and across the world. We are committed to supporting ex-service personnel as they transition to civilian careers and we are proud to be a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant in the UK, for which we hold a gold award for our support of the Armed Forces. In Australia, we have recently joined the Veterans Employment Commitment scheme, reinforcing our dedication to providing veterans with employment opportunities within the business.
